Poor Pooch

For our inaugural blog posting (we're such dorks), we thought we would share the misery of our daughter, Maddie. The one-year old border collie/Aussie shepherd mix, who was bit at the dog park this past weekend. Paula was in the midst of providing the pooch with the greatest level of joy that Maddie knows by throwing the ball, when a berserk border collie randomly ran perpendicular to Maddie's direction and grabbed a heap of flesh from her left side. Needless to say, the remainder of the day was spent at Animal Critical Care where Maddie was shaved, stapled, and HEAVILY drugged. Unfortunately, the drugs wore off by bed time and she was in constant pain and would not lay down. Therefore, Paula and I spent most of the night caring for our ailing child.

It's been four days since the random hate crime and Maddie is coping very well. She's back to her usual incessant energy levels and constant terrorizing of the cats.

Hopefully, the happenings of per and paula will include actual substantive information in future posts that don't bore you to death. Until then, this will have to do.
